St. Catherine's prides itself on the excellence of its teaching staff. All teachers have or are working towards their Early Childhood Education (ECE) accreditation, and most have post basic i.e. infant/toddler and special needs as well as First Aid Certificates. Professional Development is a priority at St. Catherine's and the staff continue to update their skills by attending workshops and seminars to be on the cutting edge of ECE trends.

We offer an above average teacher/child ratio of 2 fully qualified teachers to every 20 children in our three and four year old program. The two year old Discovery program, with a maximum of 12 children per class, boasts a ratio of 1 fully qualified teacher to each 4 children.

Each three and four year-old class participates in a weekly half-hour music class in small groups of 10 children. The Kodaly-Orff/Suzuki based teaching method incorporates nursery rhymes, songs and musical concepts. Speech, song, movement and instruments give young children an excellent foundation for future musical development.

The summer school program is designed to enhance the child's summer by providing a safe, fun and stimulating environment. We provide a place where children can come and socialize, be involved in theme related activities and learn through play.

We offer this program to children three years of age (by the end of December 2010) to six years of age (Kindergarten). This program is not just restricted to children attending St. Catherine's Preschool, so if you have friends, relatives or neighbours that you feel would enjoy the program with your child please pass along a registration for to them.

Each week our theme will be incorporated along with the regular daily structure of our program with circle times, arts & crafts, songs, games, science, snack, indoor and extended outdoor play and lots & lots of fun! Every day is full of different activities.

We will be running Monday to Thursday, July 5th through to July 29th, 2010. Morning sessions will be from 9 am - 12 noon and 1 pm - 4pm in the afternoons. The cost is $80 per week.
